Alert Burglary Brecon Way Putnoe Bedford - Sent

Alert message sent 22/02/2019 11:33:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Bedfordshire Police have advised Neighbourhood Watch of a burglary that occurred in your area recently.

Did you see anything that caught your attention? Did you see or hear anyone or a vehicle that made you look twice? Did anyone come onto your property? Please report it, no matter how small, as it could help the investigation.

Report to the police by ringing 101 or online at www.bedfordshire.police.uk/report or anonymously by ringing Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The burglary was as follows:

Brecon Way - 21/02/2019 20:45 – The householder was at home when they heard the back door being opened, and saw two males jump over the side gate and walk off towards Wentworth Drive.  Alcohol attempted to be taken from the garage.

You may want to check your own security and consider the following advice.
  • Keep your doors and windows locked at all times, even when you are at home.
  • Remove all keys from locks.
  • Keep keys in a safe place out of view.
  • Keep valuables out of sight.
  • Keep side gates locked.
  • Keep sheds and garages locked.
  • Keep bins, ladders and tools locked away.
  • Make your boundaries difficult or impossible to climb over.
  • Make your house look and feels like someone is home at all times.
  • If your house is empty after dark, leave a light on or set a timer – and even leave a radio on.
Here is Bedfordshire Police's advice about Christmas security but, of course, this applies all year round.
